Lucky Luke: The Station Master

Another extensive conversion for a character that wasn't officially produced. This one is the station master (chef de gare). The base for this one was the telegrapher model, as his outfit was the closest match. His arms were resculpted as well as his face and cap.

Next to the inspiration:

And a comparison with the donor model:

He will be used with this trainset (which will be converted and repainted). What I particularly like about this set, is that it's slightly undersized for 28mm, just like the wagons and coaches in the Lucky Luke range, so it will fit in nicely.

Lucky Luke: Scat the Gambler

This one is an extensive conversion based on the Tenderfoot model. The character is Scat, an incorrigable gambler. The conversion involved shortening the legs, modifying the face and resculpting the jacket and arms, including the rather challenging cigarette holding hand. Painting the yellow vest with the card colours was quite a fun change.

A comparison with the original character. Not perfect, but close enough.

Lucky Luke: Grocery Store

It's the (food?) store owner and some of his stock. All the models are from Editions Atlas, except for the stack of 5 small barrels which are Mega Minis. When I get around to building the actual shop (when all the figures are painted), I'll add some more goods from various sources.

The camera has drowned out nearly all the highlights, but they are there.  His eyes don't look as weird in real life either.

I quite like the wood grain I painted on these:

And the comparison shots.

Lucky Luke: Mexican and Indian

The Editions Atlas version of the sleeping Mexican and the Indian.

For the Mexican, I changed the colour of the hat from red to a more natural, strawlike colour. I think it is better this way.

The Indian is one of the more fun figures in the later releases of the Editions Atlas Lucky Luke figures. I've strayed a bit from the official paintjob and I'm quite happy with the result.

 After and before their make-over:

Lucky Luke: The Gold Digger

Powell, the gold digger, and his trusty donkey. This is the Editions Atlas version of this model. The rope that Powell's pulling the donkey with was made from greenstuff and added to the original model.

Before and after:

Lucky Luke: Marcel Dalton

Refuting the saying "the only good Dalton is a Dalton behind bars", Marcel Dalton is considered the black sheep of the family because he's the only honest Dalton. What's even worse, he's a (Swiss) banker. Brother to Ma Dalton, his existence came as a bit of a surprise to Joe, Jack, William and Averell when he visited them in prison...

This one is a conversion of a spare Averell miniature (by Editions Atlas). Greenstuff was used to turn the prison outfit in to a suit, add a hat, a suitcase, a cigar and  resculpt the right arm. I think the conversions was succesful and he makes a worthy addition to the collection.

Lucky Luke: Chinese Laundry

Another Editions Atlas set, this time of beloved racial stereotype Ling Foo, his customer and some accessories for his Chinese Laundry.

As it says on the tin, this little lady is on her merry way to the Chinese laundry to pick up some clothes Ling Foo has lovingly cleaned for her. Another one from the Editions Atlas range.

 Beofre and after comparisons:

Lucky Luke: The Teachers

As I said, getting both the Editions Atlas and Pixi school sets meant I ended up with two teachers, though one can easily serve as a generic civilian.

The first one's from the Pixi set. I haven't decided which one will get the career change. I'm not too fond of this figure, so chances are it will the Atlas one who'll end up being used with the schoolkids.

The second female teacher, is the Editions Atlas one and the most recognisable one to me, so I guess this one will get the chance to educate my schoolkids and the other one (Pixi) will get a career move.

Before and after shots:

Lucky Luke: Schoolkids

A mixture of Editions Atlas and Pixi Minis figures this time. What is a classroom with only two kids after all? Of course, this means I have two teachers now as well, but one will just have to receive a career change, plenty of opportunity in the West after all...

The Editions Atlas figures include a boy with straw hat and apple and a girl with apple. The Pixi set includes two boys. One in a sailor suit with apple and one "bad student" wearing the donkey ears hat. I converted two more from a spare Atlas schoolgirl and paperboy.

Pixi "bad student" and model student:

Atlas farmboy and schoolgirl:

Converted schoolgirl variant and a comparison with the unconverted model. I just changed her hair to give ther twin tails, the paintjob did the rest:

Converted schoolboy and a comparison with the unconverted paperboy. I turned the stack of newspapers into a leather briefcase and sculpted a new hand with an apple to keep the theme. I painted this one in the colourscheme that Atlas used on their paperboy.

The unconverted repaints next to the originals:

Lucky Luke: Stagecoach passengers

Next up are Oliver and Annabella Flimsy, as seen in the album "La Diligence", posing next to the Stagecoach stop sign (the Old West equivalent of the bus halt). All three models are by Editions Atlas.

Not part of the stagecoach set, the third figure here is just an anonymous civilian from the Editions Atlas range. The highlights on his suit aren't this strong in real life, but they are still a bit much. I will probably tone it down a little when I get a chance.
